Reporting organisationally to the Director of Brand & Marketing (FIFA26, Miami) and the Head of Digital Marketing (FIFA, Zurich), the Content Manager will be a key member of the FIFA26 Brand & Marketing team, and work in close collaboration with the Content team in Zurich and other key individuals responsible for to strategize, manage, and execute digital content initiatives for major global sporting events like the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and FIFA World Cup 2026.
THE POSITION
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Content Manager for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
- Contribute to a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the company's business goals and target audience.
- Collaborate with marketing, brand, and other departments to ensure content supports broader business objectives for tournaments assigned.
- Work closely with creative, digital, and social media teams to create cohesive and effective content campaigns that align to the brand’s voice, tone, and style guidelines.
- Oversee the content creation process, from ideation to publication, ensuring all content is on-brand, accurate, and high quality.
- Review and approve content before publication, ensuring it meets medium standards and brand guidelines.
- Help manage a content calendar that aligns with marketing campaigns, product launches, and other key events.
- Managing and updating FIFA.com, FIFA’s official website, via a content management system
- Attending and reporting on, where required, certain FIFA tournaments and events
- Live blogging on matches and other FIFA events
- Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with clubs and FIFA member associations
- Monitor and analyze data and content performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of content strategies and create content that resonates with audiences.
- Ensure that all content is optimized for search engines, incorporating SEO best practices to drive organic traffic.
- Stay updated on SEO trends and algorithms to maintain and improve content visibility.
- Communicate, present and report content strategy, successes, trends, results, and content plans to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure that all content complies with legal and regulatory requirements, including copyright laws, data protection regulations, and advertising standards.
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree or similar level of higher education
- Minimum 5 years of experience in content creation, preferably in the field of football journalism
- A passion for football, and a detailed knowledge of the sport
- A talent and passion for writing, and an ability to respond and work at speed
- Ability to understand and execute brand guidelines
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, oral and written
- Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus.
- Experience of working with content management systems and MS Teams
