POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cleveland Cavaliers are seeking a 'Manager, Corporate Partnership Development' to drive revenue through innovation and strategic execution. The successful candidate will have experience selling corporate partnerships and a proven track record of achieving goals, setting strategic sales campaigns, and developing mutually beneficial partnerships. Additionally, this person must have excellent communication and presentation skills, experience negotiating six- and seven-figure per annum deals, and a proven track record of cultivating and maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally in the market with clients and as a civic leader. This position reports to the 'Vice President, Global Partnerships'.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead with a steadfast pursuit of new sales prospects through creative prospecting techniques and tactics to stand out from the competition.
- Proactively handle prospect pipeline and creative outreach plan for potential partnership opportunities with regional, national and international companies.
- Cultivate strong relationships and rapport to identify opportunities that solve a problem(s) for their business.
- Build and manage relationships with key sports and marketing agencies to unlock opportunities with brands they represent.
- Attend network and promotional events to develop and maintain contact with potential clients and professionals.
- Establish relationships and work collaboratively with cross-function teams to drive new partnership revenue – partnership marketing, legal, marketing, game presentation, content, community and more.
- Use business industry intel, analytics, and research as a pillar of prospecting and pitch process.
- Position yourself as a brand marker by understanding the brand's needs and market trends, allowing for tailored proposals that demonstrate increased value and mutual benefit, ultimately leading to a higher revenue contribution from these partnerships.
- Lead in the exploration and growth of the Cavaliers and REG partnerships by maximizing creative ideas to build new platforms that differentiate us from our competitors.
- Work closely with the internal teams including CSS and CEE to produce elite pitches and presentations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications or marketing.
- Must have a minimum of 2+ years proven sales experience in the major league sports industry.
- Must have solid understanding of digital sales and cultivation of revenue through content.
- Proficient in sales strategy, cultivation and negotiation.
- Must be available to work Arena events, including most Cavaliers home games.
- Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights, weekends and occasional Holidays.
- Must have at least 2+ years experience using Salesforce.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other related computer skills required.
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and support multiple high level executive positions.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
- Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
