JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Steward will support the organization's data governance initiatives, collaborating with Ticket Sales and other departments on data-driven projects and process optimization. Focusing on data pipelines, quality, and documentation, the Data Steward will ensure data accuracy, consistency, and proper usage across the organization.

*** This is an entry-level position seeking candidates with 6-12 months of relevant work or internship experience. This position works onsite at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse 5 days per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL.
  • Perform data quality checks, identify issues, and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data quality issues.
  • Maintain data documentation (data dictionaries, metadata repositories, lineage diagrams).
  • Assist in developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in data profiling and cleansing activities.
  • Provide user support on data-related questions and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on data quality metrics and KPIs.
  • Assist with data orchestration tasks.
  • Stay current with data governance and management trends and best practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, business, or operations field. Preferably in data analytics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, etc.
  • Understanding of data management principles, modeling, and architecture.
  • Familiarity with data quality concepts, profiling techniques, and cleansing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and pipeline development.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and reporting software (Tableau preferred).
  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce preferred).
  • Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Postgres).
  • Knowledge of data orchestration tools (Prefect preferred).
  • Understanding of data privacy and security regulations.
  • Knowledge of data documentation tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and demonstrate initiative.
