Position Overview

Hornets Sports & Entertainment (HSE) is looking for an intern for the Corporate Partnerships department. This position will play a large role in assisting the department with researching and developing various proposals and partner activations, along with other day-to-day operations.

This is a paid internship. Interns will be paid $12.00 per hour, with the ability to work thirty (30) hours maximum per week. The 2024-2025 season program runs from September 9, 2024 through April 25, 2025.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general administrative duties
  • Research promotional items and campaigns relevant to the industry
  • Research and develop sales proposals and partnerships recaps
  • Assist with special events and corporate hospitality
  • Assist with client management and general account activation
  • Assistwith inventory of merchandise and premium items
  • Assist account managers with game-day and event activations

Engage in the full internship program, including workshops, speaker series, job shadow opportunities and work closely with fellow interns to successfully complete and present the intern project Required Skills/Experience/Abilities

To be successful in this position, you should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Interest in Sport Management/ Administration, Marketing/ Sales, or Business Administration are preferred
  • Organized, professional, self-starting and committed to the sports industry
  • Any experience working for a team, athletic department or with sporting events is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills are a necessity.
  • Proven written, oral and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • You should have strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when privy to sensitive information
  • Be a flexible and reliable teammate, both within the department and the company as a whole
  • Thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Presents self in professional manner and has the ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays
  • Ability to attend company events
