Position Overview
The Basketball Operations Strategic Assistant is responsible for assisting with tasks as assigned by the Basketball Operations staff. To be successful in this role you need to be proactive and tackle any task assigned to you with diligence and proficiency. Attention to detail is crucial as you will be counted on to complete responsibilities with hard deadlines as well as be someone who will expand on ideas and report findings. This position requires excellent time management and an ability to multitask. The Basketball Operations Strategic Assistant oversees data entry along with assisting in the player personnel process.

Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage and execute research projects for front office to inform organizational decision making
Scouting Credentials
- Coordinate the credentials for our scouts at all games (College/Pro/International)
- Organize schedule for all scouts and maintain a Master Calendar
Player Personnel Assistance
- Assist in organizing and updating the following lists/projects
- Free agent summary pages
- Target lists
- Personnel magnets and roster boards
Travel Logistics
- Coordinate and assist with all travel schedules for players and guests who come into Charlotte
- Free Agent Mini Camps
- Draft Workouts
- Transport players and guests from airports to hotels and to the facility
- Set up flights, pickups and hotels for draft workouts, mini camps and open gym
Data Daily Input
- Responsible in the daily input of information into scouting database
Note Taking
- Take notes in management meetings and distribute them to the group in a timely manner
- Coordinate the notes document that is sorted by team
- Organize prep planners to help front office prepare for negotiations
Update Studies
- Advance and update studies that will help the BBOPS staff in gaining knowledge

Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities
To perform essential job functions, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Sports Management, Business, etc.) preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and technique of basketball and experience
- Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally in a clear and concise manner
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in database management and data analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Adaptability and flexibility; adapts to changes in the work environment, meets challenging demands and can handle frequent changes
- Ability to collaborate across a full spectrum of internal and external contacts
- Dependability - consistently be at work on time, complete tasks promptly
- Required to attend all home games and may be required to attend training camp, summer league and other basketball functions
- Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
