As a key part of our back-of-the-house team, you are just as important as the chef itself. You will act as our high-quality standards expert, ensuring every guest expectation is met and every experience is a positive one. Your duties will consist of assisting all cooks with their daily tasks. You will play a key role in contributing to our customers’ satisfaction and the overall success of The Local brand.
Key Duties and responsibilities
- Come to work on time and prepare for your shift in proper uniform.
- Quickly become efficient in specified preparation of all menu items.
- Understand the operations of industrial dishwashers and follow health code protocols in regards to proper cleaning and sanitation.
- Ensure the workstation area is kept clear and clean of all debris.
- Keep food servers informed of potential issues pertaining to restocking of dishes/glassware etc.
- Properly store, rotate, and manage all food products following local, state, federal, and company guidelines and procedures.
- Help in food prep tasks during off-peak periods when needed.
- Ensure proper closure of kitchen by following kitchen stations’ closing checklist; also, help others to close the kitchen.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant and other services as directed by management.
- Attending all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Starting pay is $15.00 per hour
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment without losing composure still maintaining high quality standards.
- Highly skilled in setting up stations in the restaurant.
- Committed to practice, check, and strengthen food safety procedures.
- Competent at creating and upholding a safe working environment.
- Able to re-stock all items as required all through shift.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with others.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain quick, accurate and excellent customer relationships.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be able to work a varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
- Must pass a criminal background check
