THE POSITION
Oversee, manage and support the day-to-day support, maintenance and upkeep of the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation’s network and computer systems. Provide and maintain an up-to-date computer work environment that allows the organization to function in an orderly and productive manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain and support all Computer Systems, Servers, VOIP, SANs, Virtual infrastructure and Technology of the organization;
- Troubleshoot and resolve all manner of issues reported to the Service Desk;
- Smartphone setup and support of company devices in a mobile environment;
- Set-up of uses accounts and maintenance of an Active Directory network;
- Maintain security levels for user’s network access and data;
- Configuring systems and updating them with the latest software upgrades and security measures;
- Responsible for game day/event support and onsite support of Flames, Stampeders, Hitmen, Wrangler and Roughnecks home games;
- Responsible to maintaining an IT presence during company business hours although over-time or unusual shift hours may occur to fix technical issues or deal with system maintenance;
- Backup infrastructure and processes;
- Responsible for multiple jobsites including the Saddledome, McMahon stadium and retail locations;
- Provide support for the entire IT Team. Cross-train team members on administration of systems;
- Maintain inventory control;
- Regularly monitor software, hardware, security and connectivity issues;
- In case of system failure, inform users and customers and take measures to solve the problem at the earliest;
- Purchasing of computers and equipment as instructed;
- Documentation of systems and procedures;
- Research and/or learn new software and hardware in the marketplace that enhances the organization’s functions;
- Ensure smooth and efficient running of all the IT systems in the organization;
- Special projects as assigned.
THE INDIVIDUAL
The ideal candidate will have the following background:
- A post-secondary diploma, certification or degree related to the Information Technology field or equivalent;
- Great people and interpersonal skills a must;
- 1 -5 years computer related experience with post-secondary education in IT;
- Up to date knowledge regarding system hardware, software and connectivity;
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), with ability to assess risk and avert trouble and ability to be organized;
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills;
- Team player with ability to work independently;
- Excellent observation and analytic skills;
- Up to date knowledge of system hardware, software and connectivity;
- Understanding software products and installation (primarily, but not limited to, Microsoft);
- Understanding of Network infrastructure, subnetting and VLAN’s;
- Understanding of VM and SANS;
- Willingness to assume responsibility;
- Excellent time management skills to ensure work is completed in a timely manner;
- Eager to expand knowledge, with the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot situations that arise.
