Position Reports To: Director of Publications

The Baltimore Ravens Public Relations Interns (2) work in various capacities within the communications department helping inform the media and community about the team as well as other strategic communications efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with production, content and editing of the weekly game information, media guide, yearbook, flip card and gameday programs. Contribute to process of developing team and player notes, creating and updating player biographies, highlights, statistics and milestones for weekly game information.
  • Assist with updating and maintenance of the team’s NFL media site (NFLOMG).
  • Update weekly NFL statistics packages and distribute to the team’s coaching and scouting staffs.
  • Serve as the primary lead for the production and dispersion of the daily news clippings packet.
  • Assist in the production and distribution of both home and away gameday credentials as well as media credentials at the team facility.
  • Provide support regarding the team’s strategic communications efforts as needed.
  • Assist in preparation and coordination of interviews with players, coaches and front office staff as needed. Also aid in facilitating one-on-one interviews and press conferences.
  • Work as a team to transcribe all press conferences, podium sessions and media availabilities.
  • Provide content (e.g. player Q&A or feature story) for official team gameday program as requested.
  • Gameday duties include but are not limited to: For home games – Arriving at the stadium at least four hours prior to kickoff to set up the press box and assisting with closing the press box following the game; Providing support for PR team to ensure excellent representation of the organization. For home and away games – Helping monitor Twitter (X) postings from local and national media, tracking team stats and player milestones for post-game notes; Transcribing post-game quotes on deadline and assisting with the posting and distribution process.
  • During Training Camp, assist with distributing and maintaining credential manifest, while providing support to PR team with practice coverage.
  • If applicable, be present on Draft day to assist in office management, media services and team support.
  • Perform administrative tasks as necessary for the department and as requested.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism or communications-related field
  • Experience working with athletes on the professional and/or collegiate level
  • Ability to work flexible/long hours (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Extensive knowledge of the game of football
  • Extensive knowledge for how to utilize social media platforms
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite

Requisite Abilities and Skills:

  • Excellent writing, proofreading and statistical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive, winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and public relations skills with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of people, including staff and management, professional athletes and members of the media
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with outstanding time/task management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently execute tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, fast paced and demanding environment under strict time deadlines
  • Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information
  • Creative skillset, both in generating ideas and solving problems
  • Reliable transportation
