The Atlanta Braves Trainee Program is designed for applicants who are interested in beginning a career in professional sports. Trainees will work full-time from January 2025 through November 2025. Applicants are encouraged to visit braves.com/trainee for more information prior to applying.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
To learn the processes and procedures of the Braves Retail Distribution Center to achieve department and organizational goals. The Braves Distribution Center Trainee will join a department that strives to provide a memorable shopping experience for fans visiting Truist Park by providing outstanding customer service and a superior selection of Braves merchandise.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Assist in receiving merchandise deliveries-counting, tagging and labeling of merchandise in an organized manner within the offsite Distribution Center.
- Enter Purchase Orders into Yellow Dog Inventory System.
- Assist in pulling distributions for all retail locations.
- Assist in packing and shipping game-used, auction, and retail store orders.
- Participate in physical inventories in DC and other retail locations as needed.
- Receiving and recording shipments from UPS, FedEx, and other delivery companies.
- Ensure movement of merchandise from DC to retail locations is recorded and entered correctly into Yellow Dog Inventory System.
- Transporting merchandise via company box truck from off-site DC to ballpark and other locations as needed.
- Help the DC improve/implement new processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Be the lead on the DC side on all product update meetings scheduled
- Assist in all areas of the Retail Department as needed, including work as a sales associate in all Braves Retail locations as needed.
- Assist with pre-game store walks so all stores are fully stocked for gamedays
- Assist with generating transfer slips and transfer orders
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and move product efficiently
TRAINEE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
- College graduate, Bachelor's or Master's, with a GPA of at least 3.0 at graduation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and within all levels of the company
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Customer service oriented
- Excellent executive presence
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in supply chain, distribution center, and/or inventory management.
- Ability to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Able to lift up to 45lbs
- Able to work long hours, overtime, weekends and occasional holidays
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a box truck.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain preferred
