The Atlanta Braves Trainee Program is designed for applicants who are interested in beginning a career in professional sports. Trainees will work full-time from January 2025 through November 2025. Applicants are encouraged to visit braves.com/trainee for more information prior to applying.

The Atlanta Braves Operations Trainee must possess a strong work ethic and passion to build a career in professional event operations and hospitality. Trainee must have a service mindset that delivers exceptional service to both Atlanta Braves staff and guests. Trainee must be willing to learn and improve Braves operational standards. The Operations Trainee will support the
Gameday Staffing & Administration and the Guest Services Teams.

The Operations department is responsible for the ongoing operations of key
guest-facing departments (Event Operations – Event Logistics & Guest Services, Gameday Staffing & Administration, and Truist Park Meetings & Events) while also overseeing and collaborating on operational and strategic projects. The Operations team strives to create the best experience for every person who steps foot into our ballpark – both staff and guests. This Trainee will gain invaluable experiences through managing of people, program planning and management, and event planning as well as working with most departments throughout our organization.

Responsibilities:
Gameday Staffing & Administration
Staff Resources: Support GDSA with the creation and management of staff resources

  • Creation of 2025 Scorecard
  • GDS Uniforms: Polos, Hats, Lanyards, Name Badges and Credentials

Gameday Staff Store: Own and manage the operations of the Gameday Staff Store and team

  • Manage inventory and coordinate deliveries with Event Operations
  • Oversee team to run the day-to-day operation of the store
  • Create and send daily sales reports

Staff Recognition: Assisting with Gameday Staff Recognition Program Events

  • Diamond Honors
  • Staff Surprise and Delights
  • Staff Token Initiative
  • Staff Appreciation Weekend

Staff For a Day: Oversee the Staff for a Day Program from start to finish

  • Coordinate with Supervisors and Hiring Managers all program logistics and official communications
  • Manage communication between Braves Employee and GDS
  • Manage staff feedback via Feedback Survey
  • Create Executive Summary to close out program

EOY Supervisor Happy Hour: Oversee event from start to finish ensuring smooth and successful event
Tomahawk Times: Assist in creating a monthly newsletter for all Gameday Staff

The Guest Experience
Market Research Team: Oversee the scheduling and management of the Market Research team during the Baseball Season

  • Working alongside the Business Intelligence team to create and outwork Market Research Initiatives
  • Working alongside Guest Experience Committee to schedule team to perform Secret Shops
  • Provide feedback to the team members on any adjustments needing to be made.

Fan Feedback & VOC Sweepstakes: Manage the Braves Survey Sweepstakes alongside the Guest Experience Committee.

Lost and Found: Manage the daily operation of the Lost and Found program, ensuring all lost items are logged, securely stored, and properly handled in accordance with Truist Park policies.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests seeking assistance with lost items, including responding to inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with security, guest services, and operations teams to coordinate the collection and return of found items from across the park.

Guest Communication:

  • Oversee Braves Webs and Fan Mail
  • Replying to fan inquiries in person, writing, and via telephone
  • Manage Braves Seat Visit Calendar
  • Ensure Website is updated with accurate information

TRAINEE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

  • College graduate, Bachelor's or Master's, with a GPA of at least 3.0 at graduation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and within all levels of the company
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Customer service oriented
  • Excellent executive presence
  • Must complete a background check

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA or MS degree in Sports Management, Hospitality, or related field
  • Understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures and an ability to relate well with individuals of a diverse background
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, and occasional holidays in all types of weather conditions
  • Previous experience with Google Docs, Sheets and Forms is preferred
  • Team Player
  • Self-starter with initiative
