Job Title: PUCK Intern (2023-24)

Job Summary:
The Arizona Coyotes PUCK Rotational Internship Program will give young professionals exposure to the sports industry. Interns will learn what goes on behind the scenes and gain relationships with industry professionals, opportunities to work on meaningful projects across many departments, and skills that build a foundation for future careers. Rotational Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to the Clubβs success through working on department specific projects and providing solutions, work in research groups to provide recommendations, long-term projects that last the duration of the season, and working Coyotes events. Participating departments in which interns will rotate through include Arizona Coyotes Foundation & Community Impact, Marketing and Brand.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Foundation & Community Impact
- Assist with the execution of the 50/50 raffle, including setting up stations and equipment.
- Assist with in-game fundraising efforts of the Foundation including raffles, sales of charitable items, and management of silent auctions.
- Assist with the management and promotion of the Arizona Coyotes Community Corner.
- Assist with community outreach efforts, such as volunteer projects and the Arizona Coyotes Reading Program.
- Respond to fan mail.
- Assist with coordinating Foundation/Community Impact initiatives, ancillary department requests, and other activities during game nights.
- Assist with filling donation requests, managing database, and inventory.
- Assist with the management and fulfillment of the Arizona Coyotes Foundation online store.
- Assist with research projects regarding NHL Foundation initiatives and Authentics programs.
- Assist with key Foundation events such as Celebrity Waiters, Golf Classic, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Marketing
- Coordinate and execute various in-market events, both internal and external, to promote engagement between the Arizona community and Arizona Coyotes brand.
- Weekly research and reports on relevant market activations to keep our department current in the market.
- Assist with marketing and promotion for all sellable products including but not limited to single game tickets, season tickets, corporate hospitality, etc.
- Help facilitate grassroot marketing events to further improve brand recognition and fan development.
- Assist with trafficking as needed across both owned and paid media.
- Be prepared to develop, plan and execute new and creative ways to engage with fans
- Assist with event planning and day of operations for various programming including the following: watch parties, patio parties, community events, giveaway distribution, etc.
- Execute game night promotions, events, and additional duties.
- Completing competitive social media analysis
- Assist, complete and analyze Arizona Coyotes social media content metric reporting
- Game day duties as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
- Branding
- Assist with Brand in-person selling events around the Valley such as First Fridays, in-store events, pop-up shops, and other Coyotes brand events.
- Learn internal SKU & UPC barcoding systems for merchandise
- Receive, manage, and reconcile incoming and outgoing inventory
- Assist with ecommerce product creation β input details, descriptions, assets, metadata, etc.
- Process, log, and track VIP gifting requests and work with Director of Guest Relations on fulfillment of requests
- Assist with Brand lifestyle photoshoots
- Track overall brand performance with Manager of Paid Media, looking at what is working and what is not
- Complete brand exercises, researching sports and fashion style trends and forecasting
- Research and analyze brand copy, photoshoots, and market, and how we can improve reach.
- Complete competitive brand analysis and audits of Coyotes social media and website
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Requires prolonged standing, ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to work in outdoor conditions
- Possesses a friendly and professional manner
- Strong verbal and listening skills
- Event management skills
- Organized with the ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
- Able to follow instructions and act promptly under pressure
- Strong ability to work as a part of a team with a positive attitude
- Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude at all times
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule (evenings, weekends, and holidays)
Education and Formal Training:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Have completed 1 year of college credits
