Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the country with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports. In addition to Capital One Arena – a venue which hosts 3M+ visitors across over 250 events annually, MSE also manages MedStar Capitals Iceplex (training facility for the Capitals), MedStar Health Performance Center (training facility for the Wizards, Mystics, and Go-Go) and EagleBank Arena (a 12,000+ live event venue on George Mason University’s campus).

In July 2020, MSE partnered with William Hill (subsequently acquired by Caesars Entertainment) to open the first ever in-arena sportsbook in North America, now called Caesars Sportsbook. The space now also boasts a destination culinary experience, Guy Fieri’s DC Kitchen + Bar.

MSE opened “District E powered by Ticketmaster” in the spring of 2023, a flagship esports and entertainment venue. This 14,000-square-foot live-event theater offers a 365-day-a-year series of immersive experiences in esports, music, culinary excellence, event programming, and community events.

Position Overview: The Manager, Youth Basketball Camps & Clinics is responsible for overseeing on-court youth basketball activations in the greater DMV community for the Wizards, Mystics, and Go-Go. The Manager will coordinate all youth basketball camps and clinics, with a focus on developing the skills of youth participants, fan development, and generating revenue through youth basketball related events.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate in developing and implementing strategies to continue to grow camp/clinic participation, build brand visibility, and drive revenue.
Manage logistics, planning, marketing, and execution of Wizards, Mystics, and Go-Go youth basketball camps & clinics.
Serve key role in youth basketball planning, budget, and P&L management.
Be responsible for the hiring, staffing, and training of our youth basketball coaches, site directors, and administrative staff for all on-court youth basketball activities.
Serve as site director and lead instructor at key youth basketball initiatives, including gameday clinics and partnership activations.
Build and develop activation strategies to recruit participants and exceed registration and revenue goals for camp and clinic programming.
Help to design and implement a robust training program for MSE youth basketball coaches and staff.
Assist in the design and implementation of a robust Coaches Education program; participate in in-person and virtual coaches' clinics.
Provide best-in-class customer service.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Deep knowledge of the game of basketball.
5+ years of basketball coaching experience is required, with a strong preference for those with previous experience managing robust youth basketball program (camps, AAU, Jr. NBA affiliated programs, professional teams).
Must possess effective communication & motivational skills that are age appropriate.
Ability to craft lesson plans and develop age and skill level appropriate curriculum.
Must be dependable, detail oriented, professional, and punctual.
Highly organized, with attention to detail throughout all job responsibilities.
Ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, and work independently with limited supervision.
Valid Driver’s License.
Certification in first aid, CPR and AED, or the willingness to become certified.
Flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
