The Whitecaps FC mission is To Unite and Inspire Our Communities. We are looking for a new team member to join Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the position of NSDC Facilities Coordinator.
The NSDC Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for the smooth operation of the facilities at our National Soccer Development Centre (UBC), ensuring that our professional teams and our development academy have the environment and equipment needed for optimal performance.
Role Responsibilities:
Physical upkeep of the facility, internally and externally (with the exception of specific pitch maintenance)
Cleanliness of the facility and equipment including oversight of the third-party janitorial staff
Ensuring that all daily operational needs are met in a timely manner.
Regular walkthroughs of the facility to ensure any maintenance, cleanliness or safety issues are logged and resolved in a timely manner
Ensuring that all external pathways are clear, addressing any hazards if needed
Provide exceptional customer service to all day-to-day inquiries as needed
Minor repairs and maintenance of equipment and physical assets (including training nets, etc.) on site
Inventory maintenance, receiving and storage management of the facility’s warehouse and other supply storage areas on site are well organized and efficient Working closely with the Club’s equipment staff to support organization and cleanliness of training equipment storage areas
Maintenance of cold and hot tubs at the highest level
Preventative maintenance of buildings and equipment, and coordination of successful annual inspections as needed
Coordinate inventory levels for the facility, to ensure supplies are maintained at minimum inventory levels
Support team lead with vendor management and purchasing
Support day to day relationship with UBC Building Operations to ensure smooth operations and reporting issues in the training centre
Oversight of building access system, security, and parking authorization for the facility
Establish and maintain open, collaborative, positive relationships with cross-team members and vendors
Internal and external shipping and receiving
Loading, transporting, and delivery of items as needed
Facility related projects as required
Qualifications/Experience:
In addition to bringing a commitment to Vancouver Whitecaps FC vision and values, the ideal candidate will require degrees of demonstrated experience as follows:
Strong knowledge of maintenance and building operations
1-2 years experience as a Facilities Coordinator or similar role
A strong awareness and understanding of the need for discretion and confidentiality in the role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Experience with office equipment and security systems
An understanding of WorkSafeBC regulations within the workplace
Sound decision-making skills and the ability to find practical solutions under pressure
Ability to lift approximately 30 lbs
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and within a team
A clean and valid BC driver’s license
Occupational First Aid Certification is an asset
Knowledge of Hot Tub maintenance is an asset
Certificate in building/facility maintenance is preferred
Working days/hours are dependent on teams’ schedule and may require some weekends and evenings
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; remote work is not available for this role
Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Vulnerable Sector Check in Canada
