JOB SUMMARY: The Event Communications Intern will assist with the communications efforts for REV Entertainment, the exclusive events company of the Texas Rangers, Globe Life Field, and Choctaw Stadium. This position will support the Communications Director in executing REV Entertainment’s public relations strategies. The position requires a highly organized individual with a technical skillset, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position is expected to run from approximately Aug. 1 through Dec. 31, 2024.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Assist efforts to define, develop, manage, and execute communications strategies

  • Coordinate with media to facilitate coverage of events at Globe Life Field and Choctaw Stadium

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for high school football games at Choctaw Stadium

  • Develop and maintain media relations database, including media contacts

  • Assist with media credential process, including distribution at events

  • Assist in researching and writing internal and external communications

  • Assist with media operations for special events, including day-of coordination

  • Archive, track, and report media coverage through monitoring service

  • Assist with the communication between REV Entertainment and other departments to facilitate workflow

  • Prepare weekly job status reports for leadership

  • Work regular in-person office hours, Monday through Friday

  • Work nights, weekends, and minor holidays as needed

  • Attend select events to collect photo and video content

  • All other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in professional or collegiate athletics communications

  • Applicants should be either graduated from college, or in their senior or junior years of study

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills

  • Outstanding communication, copy editing and writing skills

  • Public Relations/Communications background or education

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word

  • Motivated self-starter

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff including upper management

  • Strong customer service and networking skills

  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
