Your role as an Event Management Center (EMC) Dispatcher:

The Event Management Center Dispatcher is primarily responsible for answering radio calls and inputting incidents into the 24/7 Software system to ensure a safe ballpark experience for guests and responding to any safety inquiries in a prompt manner.

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Exemplifying our Petco Park Promise: CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED by proactively welcoming all guests to the ballpark and consistently striving to exceed all guests’ expectations

  • Responding to all Team Member communications via two-way radio, phone, communicator devices, text, or instant message

  • Monitoring 24/7 Software text module and responds appropriately to guest texts

  • Collaborating with the EMC Manager and service providers to ensure that the appropriate resources are deployed to various locations during events

  • Responding to Team Members’ inquiries regarding ballpark policies, promotions, and events

  • Troubleshooting incidents, with the assistance of EMC Manager, that occur inside the ballpark or surrounding Padres parking venues

  • Documenting appropriate game day communications and instances in 24/7 Software

  • Assuming other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Padres Management

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:

  • Being consistent, punctual, and have reliable attendance

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations

  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate Petco Park policies, procedures, and other ballpark information

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience in 24/7 Software (Incident Management System) is a plus

  • Possess positive attitude and strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment

  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance as outlined by the San Diego Padres Organization and Employee Handbook

  • Previous radio dispatch experience is preferred

  • Education and/or certifications, relative to the position, is preferred

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus

You will be required to meet the following:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment

  • Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events. Ability to ascend and descend stairs

  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Must be able to work during Padres home games, non-game days while team is on the road and other special events as needed.

  • As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check

Salary and Additional Compensation:

Per the California pay transparency law, the pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour. Part- time non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance and rates will increase accordingly.
