Overview

Spurs Sports & Entertainment are seeking a highly motivated, organized and dedicated person to fill the position of Community Investments Coordinator. This role will be responsible for the oversight of all initiatives that benefit the organization’s nonprofit, Spurs Give. In addition to the planning and project management of grassroots fundraisers such as events, auctions and merchandise, this role will also lead and execute the 50/50 Raffle.

The 50/50 Raffle is an ongoing fundraiser that takes place at all Spurs home games and select San Antonio FC games and requires the oversight and management of a team of part-time, game day staff. Lastly, this role will assist in the cultivation of like-minded community members who will support the work of nonprofit. All applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes working nights, weekends, and holidays as the teams’ schedule dictates.

Responsibilities

  1. Attending 50% of games and the hiring and managing of all 50/50 staff for each game, including scheduling and production of payroll for all part-time sellers and everyday functions of the raffle to maintain its ability to operate.
  2. Work closely with marketing, brand and communications teams for all of the marketing and publicity of all fundraising efforts.
  3. Plan, lead and execute all fundraising efforts for the nonprofit organization including events, auctions, merchandise and campaigns.
  4. Assist Community Investments Director in the cultivation of new donors and stewardship of current like-minded community leaders by maintaining records, providing reports, processing donations and leading communications with individuals who have contributed.
  5. Provide timely reports on revenue and expenditures with the goal of staying within budget plan needed to operate nonprofit programs and commitments throughout the year.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Community Investments Coordinator will also be responsible for assisting with the following Impact Department activities:

  • Assist and attend Impact team initiatives, programs and events
  • Help Finance Associate acquire needed paperwork for tax and auditing purpose
  • Provide support for Impact Department on a day-to-day basis, as needed

Qualifications

  • Success in motivating teams to achieve goals.
  • Background in sales, creative marketing, donor development, entertainment/sports and/or nonprofit development is preferred.
  • Applicants should be organized, creative, and proficient with computers and be able to exhibit a solid work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Capacity to create and run accurate and thorough reports.
  • Applicants should have strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
