RSL Assistant Equipment Manager

 SUMMARY

As the Assistant Equipment Manager for Real Salt Lake, you will be responsible for assisting the first team in daily equipment/gear set-up and breakdown of training, game, and locker room, both home and away. You will report to the Director of Equipment Operations. This position will work out of the ZBRA practice facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Assists in procuring team apparel, equipment, and supplies to ensure players have everything needed to perform during training, and games.
• Ensures that equipment orders are accurate, timely, and within budgetary limits.
• Helps maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Assists in managing accounts with vendors and ordering needed equipment for the team.
• Prepares the locker room to ensure players have all the equipment needed for games and training.
• Maintains accurate inventory of team apparel, field equipment, and team spaces. Provides updates to the coaching staff and director of equipment regarding equipment status and needed repairs or purchases before a shortage occurs.
• Ensure all team equipment is prepared and available for use by the team when needed.
• Assists in the distribution of equipment to players ensuring they are in good operational condition.
• Other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have Excellent people skills including verbal and written communication and the ability to exercise good judgment.
• Able to travel with the team to away games, as needed.
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to prioritize responsibilities and work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends to accommodate the teams’ schedule and events.
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to pass a background check and become Safe Sport certified.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience managing equipment in a collegiate or professional environment.
• Preference will be given to individuals with an understanding of soccer.
• Preference will be given to those with Spanish bilingual abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 75 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, etc.
