Job Summary
The PNC Park Operations Intern will learn daily back-of-the-house operations of the ballpark through observing the Director of PNC Park Operations, Director of PNC Park Security, Manager of Guest Experience, Manager of PNC Park Facilities, Manager of Security Operations and the Coordinator of Ballpark Maintenance on both non-game days and game days. The intern will participate in game/event-related duties to gain a full understanding of the successful execution of back-of-the-house and front-line procedures, as well as the staffing necessary to operate a professional sports facility.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Human Resources in preparing for game/event day employee interviews and call-backs for new hires.
- Conduct inventories in the following areas, as necessary: game/event day staff uniforms; radios and accessories, including labeling and assisting with distribution; various signage throughout the ballpark; storage areas; equipment and others.
- Assist with preparing monthly game/event day employee schedules; enter staffing requests into scheduling software.
- Organize and maintain necessary supplies in game/event day manager’s office.
- Perform ballpark walk-throughs and conduct checklists for various maintenance and cleaning related issues.
- Assist with organizing capital projects by creating and maintaining spreadsheets and organizing other pertinent project information.
- Maintain a daily log and photo library of all ballpark repair projects while in-progress.
- Assist Directors and Managers with daily game/event day staff briefings.
- Maintain accurate equipment and delivery inventory; order miscellaneous equipment, as necessary.
- Assist in counting promotional items upon delivery to the ballpark and inventory items returned from the entrance gates. Create and maintain spreadsheets for each promotion and distribution to gates.
- Assist with mailroom duties, as necessary.
- Attend Homestand Meetings, Supplemental Event Meetings and other sessions in the areas listed above, as necessary.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Required:
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
- Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited institution at Junior, Senior or Graduate level.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and adaptability to new software.
Desired:
- Candidates majoring in Event / Facilities Management, Sports Management or related field.
- Customer Service experience helpful.
- Valid driver’s license.
