As an Athletic Performance Coach, your work is vital to maximizing our players’ physical development by assisting in the enhancement and execution of year-round athletic performance programs that create optimal conditions for talent to thrive.

Working with a multi-disciplinary staff, you will contribute to and support processes and systems that encourage physical growth and challenge player potential.

In this role you will:

  • Lead Oklahoma City Blue (G League) athletic performance player care programming for 6 months
  • Assist with Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA) player care programming for 6 months
  • Execute and collaborate on player medical / performance case management, while communicating needed information to colleagues (i.e. staff members, assistant coaches, etc.)
  • Perform player and coach education sessions
  • Implement activities supporting player development
  • Support nutrition and supplement programming
  • Develop and cultivate relationships for medical and performance outreach while scouting new research literature, trends, and methodologies to support research and development initiatives
  • Serve as a role model for both players and staff in the areas of physical and emotional wellness

What you’ll bring to the roll:

  • Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS) through the NSCA required
  • Experience working as a performance coach in a team setting is preferred
  • Medical background such as holding DPT and/or ATC credentials are preferred
  • Experience working with athletes, coaches, and support staff in a team environment is required
  • Demonstrated expertise in rehabilitation, movement assessment, and/or performance training is required
  • Experience working with performance and sport science technologies preferred
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for communicating clear and effective messages, both written and verbal, to a variety of different stakeholders
  • Must be able to work extended hours with short notice

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Performance and Rehabilitation.
