POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Grants Manager, you will collaborate with the Devils Youth Foundation team to oversee the entire grants life cycle. This involves thorough research, vigilant monitoring, rigorous evaluation, and comprehensive reporting with a keen focus on strategy and implementation. Your responsibilities extend to managing all administrative aspects of grant operations and providing additional support for various Foundation functions.

Furthermore, you will play a pivotal role in the Foundation's social media outreach and planning efforts. Your tasks will include crafting compelling narratives highlighting our grant partners and showcasing the impactful work undertaken by the foundation.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW:

Manages the full life-cycle of the Foundation's grants ensuring all pre-grant and grant management requirements are met, including performing due diligence and research on applicants and grantees and continual review of progress and expenditure reports and assuring timely and accurate preparation of all grant-related communications, including terms and conditions of awarded grants.
Leads the implementation and continual quality improvement of the grantmaking workflow processes and procedures.
Understands IRS requirements for private foundations and ensures compliance with those rules and regulations, including 990PF reporting.
Corresponds with applicants and grantees as directed by the Executive Director.
In conjunction with Executive Director, develop collaborative relationships with potential grant applicants, support applicants, grantees and others through consultation, site visits, peer networks, meetings, and/or education/training/technical assistance, as needed.
Supports Executive Director with Board activities and projects including preparing written reports and presentations.
Assist in the coordination of annual fundraisers and other events.
Work with the Foundation staff to provide content for the Foundation's communication and messaging strategy.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to focus and perform amidst multiple project requests, competing demands and at times shifting priorities.
Ability to take initiative, to perform independently as well as a member of the team.
Genuine passion and interest in serving and supporting communities with an understanding of the power and influence of sport, particularly the game of ice hockey.
Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated understanding of policy and systems change frameworks and knowledge of approaches to positive youth development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior nonprofit and/or government experience.
Prior development, grant writing, funding and management, foundation experienced.
Demonstrated understanding of the needs and interests of youth and communities across the region.
Experience in engaging with and advocating for diverse community members and other key stakeholders.
Understanding and willingness to work nights and weekends due to live event schedule.
