Manager, Industry Growth Fund (MAT Leave Coverage)

SUMMARY
Within the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the NHL and NHLPA created the Industry Growth Fund which aims to expand the NHL ecosystem, grow its fanbase and create unique, positive experiences for its fans through strategic investments.

The candidate will report to the Senior Director, Industry Growth Fund on initiatives and events funded through the Industry Growth Fund with an emphasis on Canadian strategies, innovative research and NHL/NHLPA IGF Programming. They will be a member of a team working to improve the cultural availability, inclusivity and awareness of the sport and NHL brands.

The candidate will have a passion for community and cultural outreach, program development and creating innovative experiences through a hockey lens. The right candidate will have solid project management experience, exhibit strong leadership, communication skills, and be a self starter.

This position will support the Canadian IGF portfolio including but not limited to:
· NHL Canadian Club communications
· Planning and execution of IGF events and upcoming community initiatives at NHL Tent pole events
· Support the NHL/NHLPA First Shift program
· Coordination of Female and Alumni funding
· Innovation ideation and research
· NHL Foundation Canada support
· Support of IGF programs and Club reporting
· Development and expansion of the NHL Street Program in Canada
· Coordination of IGF storytelling and PR opportunities

The position will also include collaboration with the IGF department that oversees all 32 NHL Clubs efforts and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning and execution of IGF programs and initiatives at 2024-25 NHL Events
  • Management and expansion of IGF youth programming
  • Coordination of resources and fund reporting
  • Communication with NHL Clubs, Partners and Internal Stakeholders
  • Research and development of innovative fan experiences


QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong subject matter knowledge of youth and amateur sports industry
· Event planning and management skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence leadership levels
· Entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated, self-starter, with comfort working in small teams
· Highly organized, attention to detail and strong follow-through
. Data analysis and insights production considered an asset
· Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
· Chat GPT or other AI experience an asset
· A positive energetic attitude
· Hockey and youth sport knowledge a plus

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Successful completion of post-secondary education
· 4+ years experience in project and/or event management
. 4+ years experience with youth/community organization

LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Superior written and oral communication skills (English)
· Bilingualism (French / English, spoken and written) considered an asset
