Group and Position Summary:
The Marketing & Growth Team Leader is a key Fan Engagement & DTC department player. This person has four direct reports and a total team of eight. The team leader is responsible for setting the funnel's strategy for the top (brand, creative, media, talent marketing) and bottom (NBA App, NBA ID, NBA League Pass). This person is the main point of contact for the different verticals of the NY marketing team: Global Fan Marketing, Product Marketing, Digital Growth, Media Marketing and Marketing Operations.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Marketing & Growth team for Europe & Middle East with four direct reports (One Director and Three Senior Managers).
- Set up measurable and development goals for each member of the team.
- Own the Marketing & Growth annual budget, working closely with finance during the business planning process and forecasting monthly.
- Lead all aspects of DTC Marketing in the region to drive NBA App downloads, NBA ID sign-ups, and NBA League subscribers.
- Responsible for setting up the strategy for local creative and media, player, influencers partner marketing and DTC marketing.
- Lead all aspects of brand marketing activities that drive brand awareness, consideration and intention to purchase
- Lead all aspects of campaign planning for tentpole moments like the Start of the Season, IST, ASG, playoffs, and Global Games in the EME region.
- Lead local growth initiatives like LP Ambassadors Network, local fantasy games, and local NBA ID hubs.
Required Education/Professional Experience:
- BA/BS required.
- Master in Marketing / MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading a major marketing function.
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:
- Experience across multiple European marketing disciplines, including brand, media, digital and talent.
- Proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and retaining world-class marketing talent.
- Demonstrated communications expertise with exceptional verbal and written communication.
- Strong budget management and marketing measurement skills, preferably with a track record of managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Fluency in English and other European languages is a plus.
