Position Overview:

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support for Nashville Soccer Club and Huntsville City Football Club. Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for administering general human resources activity including full cycle recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, benefits, and other duties as requested.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and conduct full cycle recruiting and hiring process for all Exempt and Non-Exempt associates.
  • Leverage relevant internal and external resources (Indeed, LinkedIn, Social Media, Universities, Professional Organizations, etc.) to fill vacancies and create a talent pipeline.
  • Identify and participate in community activities such as job fairs, university events, industry groups, etc.
  • Regularly review processes to determine if they are efficient and effective.
  • Make recommendations for improvements and assist in implementation of best practices resulting in improved candidate selection and retention.
  • Develop and update job descriptions and qualification criteria.
  • Screen candidates to assess relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience, and aptitudes to create a short list of recommended candidates for hiring managers.
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports such as time to hire, time to fill and source of hire.
  • Train and advise hiring managers on interviewing techniques and assessment methods.
  • Evaluate associate turnover trends to adjust sourcing and recruitment activities.
  • Oversee Nashville SC’s intern program.
  • Maintain frequent correspondence with new hires to prepare for their first day and act as a point for support during and after the on-boarding process.
  • Lead the HR and general company onboarding process for new associates to ensure they become fully integrated. This may include welcoming new associates upon arrival, office tours, overview of various systems/equipment, benefits, policies/procedures, etc.
  • Provides great customer service while corresponding with new hires and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality with respect to Human Resource matters – including but not limited to salaries, employee relations issues, internal department updates, and the content of all paperwork.
  • Ensure compliant personnel paperwork and files according to established policies and guidelines.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1 – 2 years of Human Resources/Talent Acquisition experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good judgment and ability to work independently.
  • High level proficiency in PC utilization skills.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Ability to receive and give information in a courteous manner over the telephone, via electronic communication or in person.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented projects with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and a strong sense of urgency with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
