Position:

The Performance Science Intern is part of the Sporting Operations Department for Minnesota United FC (MNUFC), a sports business located in the Twins Cities area of Minnesota and a member of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top tier soccer league in North America.

Job Description:

The Performance Science Intern will have the opportunity to gain a hands-on learning experience by supporting the Performance Science department. Duties and tasks will focus on improving player performance and injury prevention through strength and conditioning, daily data compilation, nutrition and supplementation for the First Team and Development Program. This position will allow you to merge a passion for sport science and soccer, while promoting your career growth in a professional setting.

This is a paid, part-time, seasonal position based in Blaine, MN reporting to the Performance Scientist.

Essential Duties:

Data Collection and Analysis
- Prepare GPS system other player bio-collection mechanisms
- Learn how to use data to pull useful reports for Technical Staff
- Collect performance testing data to help monitor players
Strength and Conditioning
- Preparing weight room for workouts
- Understand importance of organization and cleanliness of space
- Collaborate with Sports Medicine on player status, wellness, and rehabilitation
Training
- Assist:
  - With pre-training activations and movement preparation
  - With warmups and on-field training sessions
  - Operations staff in set-up and preparation of training session
Other duties as assigned by Sporting Operations

Education & Experience:

Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or recent graduate in relevant field preferred
Experience with strength and conditioning, performance, and/or analysis preferred
Experience with technical tools for analysis preferred
Familiarity with the professional soccer landscape
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus
Ability to keep a strong and positive attitude that reflects the spirit of the Club
Vehicle/reliable transport
