Position Summary:

The Vice President of Brand Partnerships, in collaboration with the SVP, Commercial Revenue will oversee the development and implementation of sponsorship and media sales strategies, plans, and programs needed to meet and support and drive the Twins growth and success. This individual will work closely with the Brand Partnership Director of Activation, and Director of Research and Strategy to promote a revenue driven mindset focused on maximizing current and future opportunities. The successful candidate will strive to create efficiencies and ensure flawless execution and delivery of services that will lead to increased profitability, increased retention of the client base, and continued enhancement of an entrepreneurial sales culture. This leader will manage the day-to-day performance of the corporate sales team providing clear direction, guidance, and support. This candidate will help lead the development and execution of strategies to maximize revenues from existing partners and programs and develop short and long-term plans for generating new forms of revenue. This role will provide leadership that ensures strategic clarity, creative collaboration, and resource alignment against actionable goals.

Candidate Summary:

The ideal candidate should have a winning mindset, is proactive, strategic, creative, and a driven executive who has had exceptional success leading a top team, agency, media business, or sports organization. In addition to being an accomplished revenue generator, the successful candidate will be highly collaborative, incredibly hard-working and an outstanding communicator. This person will have significant managerial experience and will be excellent at developing, managing, and leading high performing teams. They will have a strong network of direct relationships with senior level executives across multiple business sectors to identify and develop new clients and prospects. The individual will be known for their ability to think creatively, solve critical problems, build/lead high performing sales teams and maintain momentum amidst challenges. In addition, the ideal candidate will have the flexibility and adaptability to be able to change direction quickly to meet the dynamic needs of the organization. When necessary, the successful candidate will be a tough and effective negotiator, that is comfortable in both complex negotiations and sophisticated business situations. Lastly, the successful candidate will demand of themselves and others the highest professional standards and personal and professional integrity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the SVP, Commercial Revenue, develop and implement strategic plans to retain, achieve and drive profitable, long-term sponsorship and broadcast media revenue and retention growth.
  • Co-Lead execution of short and long-term sales business plans.
  • Drive the successful sale of all team and ballpark sponsorship inventory.
  • Responsible for achieving established revenue goals and budgets.
  • Work closely with the Research & Development team to oversee the creation of all sales proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Utilize networking expertise to develop existing and new local, regional, and national partnerships to further enhance corporate alliances and strengthen relationships to maximize sales results and maintain/increase retention.
  • Provide direct, day-to-day leadership to direct reports, as well as coaching and mentoring to enhance performance and development of staff.
  • Collaborate with Client Activation & Service to effectively plan and execute all renewals, partnership recaps and delivery on client ROO/ROI objectives.
  • Work closely with Research and Strategy to provide strategic insight on current and future impactful partnership initiatives and opportunities.
  • Help team leverage the strengths of existing partnership agreements and grow existing business.
  • Assist in creating department culture that motivates staff to perform to their fullest and achieve corporate and personal goals.
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports and other staff to maintain clear communication, performance expectations and department synergy.
  • Co-manage department budget to ensure targets are met and proper methods of accountability are established and achieved.
  • Ensure full adoption of CRM sales activity tracking to support pipeline and prospect management along with weekly, monthly, and annual reporting.
  • Analyze and identify ways to increase efficiency, improve levels of service and enhance profitability in all areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain and enhance the Organizational Mission of the Minnesota Twins.

Requirement Experience and Education:

  • 12+ years of experience in marketing, with an emphasis on sponsorship and media sales.
  • Established management track record of successfully leading corporate sales teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications with an emphasis in marketing preferred, or related field.
  • Successful candidates must have an established network of C-level decision making contacts.

  • Assertive, passionate, and goal-oriented creator and manager of new business with the drive to succeed at the highest levels.
  • Confident, proactive, and enthusiastic style that assimilates well within a team environment.
  • Polished oral and written communication skills; able to think and react quickly and confidently.
  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours necessary to achieve personal, departmental, and organizational goals.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with KORE CRM platform a plus.
  • Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA).
  • Deep understanding of the broadcast media landscape.
