The HEAT Group is seeking to hire a Digital Content Intern who is responsible for ideating and producing different content types for the Miami HEAT, Miami HEAT Store, Miami HEAT Dancers, Kaseya Center and other auxiliary properties via social media platforms, organizational websites, and the Miami HEAT Mobile app. The ideal candidate for this internship position will be expected to assist in generating new content ideas while keeping future game, event, and retail promotions top of mind. Experience in content ideation and creation and representing a brand’s social media presence is strongly preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.

  • Assist in ideating and creating social media content covering a multitude of Miami HEAT social media platforms.
  • Monitor emerging social media trends, conversations, and filters that may align with the Miami HEAT brand.
  • Assist in content coverage for both onsite and offsite Miami HEAT and Kaseya Center events.
  • Collaborate within the Miami HEAT Content and Creative departments for successful content development.

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited university 
  • Strong understanding of established and emerging social media platforms
  • Experience in capturing and editing cell phone content  
  • Knowledge of pop culture, current events, and social media/internet culture 
  • Social media creativity and swift adaptability to current events 
  • Knowledge of the game of basketball, Miami HEAT team news (both current and historical) and NBA storylines 
  • Strong writing, creative, and analytical skills 
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays for possible Miami HEAT games and Kaseya Center events
  • Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a timely and professional manner while taking initiative 
  • Outstanding communication, teamwork, and relationship building skills 
  • Photography skills are a plus 
  • Coding skills not required but a plus
  • Fluency in verbal and written Spanish preferred but not required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be enrolled in college or university and be available to work from June 3rd to July 26th.
