The Licensing Executive will work within the Retail & Licensing team and will play a key role in assisting the Head of Licensing and Licensing Manager with the responsibilities of day-to-day tasks relating to the management of Manchester City Football Club’s global physical and digital licensing programme, as well as support of the club’s wider retail operations.

This is an opportunity to join a great team in a fast-paced environment, working across a portfolio of diverse global licensees and product categories for a global sports brand.

Merchandise has many touch points within the business and this role will include the experience of working directly with a number of departments across the organisation.

Your Impact

  1. Advising on product development, working with licensees to expand Man City’s official merchandise portfolio and ensuring all products are compliant with the official brand guidelines, reflect the club’s values and appeal to the ever-growing international fanbase.
  2. Update and maintain the online licensee management platform, inputting contract details regularly and reviewing and approving sales reports, to enable tracking of granted rights, advance payments and royalty invoicing.
  3. Coordinate planning, development and delivery of licensee workshops, to help licensees understand the clubs core brand values, positioning and strategy.
  4. Undertake market analysis, researching trends within the fashion, football / sport and wider licensing landscape to identify new merchandise categories, to help expand the clubs licensing portfolio.
  5. Liaise regularly with internal Digital, Marketing and Fan Membership teams to identify fan engagement opportunities and promote licensed products, with the objective of driving sales via official club retail channels.
  6. Delivering day to day administration tasks relating to Man City licensee accounts, ensuring timely activation of contractual obligations and approvals of all product concepts, pre-production samples that are to be manufactured / published / developed across the physical and digital licensing programme.
  7. Maintain the team Licensing folder on SharePoint, ensuring all current paperwork is added to the library to enable easy reference for renewals and licensee negotiations.
  8. Attend retail focused Player Appearance / commercial days to help with delivery of marketing assets for key licensed products.



What we are looking for

Essential

  • Interest in Sports Merchandise, marketing and branding.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and handle multiple on-going projects.
  • Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated with the ability to show initiative.
  • Desire to learn and develop within a small and growing team.
  • Friendly and personable individual

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the sports merchandise landscape.
  • Experience within a brand licensing environment. (1 year minimum ideally)-
  • Understanding of licensing agreement structure.
  • Basic understanding of intellectual property
  • Desire to learn negotiating skills.
  • Commercial interest in sales process / driving revenues.
  • Football / sports fan.
