KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The research & analysis of opposition set plays (corners, free kicks, throw ins, penalties & kick off) to include video & statistically based meetings to be presented to the coaching staff & players in the lead up to a matchday.
- You will be responsible for the review, feedback & ongoing statistical analysis of Luton Town set plays post match throughout the season. Working with the First Team Coaching Staff to maximise both Attacking & Defensive potential to be relayed onto the training pitch.
- Creating databases on best practice examples from a combination of matchday & training footage. Knowledge & experience of identifying set plays trends across domestic leagues in Europe & how these can be implemented to benefit performance.
- Conducting research projects to include trends throughout the league & producing statistical reports to benchmark data against opposition.
- Attend matchdays to carry out live analysis & relay information to the relevant coaching staff and/or players. To prepare the changing room with displays on player set play roles & responsibilities and to assist with any equipment and/or logistical set up with regards to matchday analysis.
- Assist the department in the production of video playlists to reflect the team’s playing philosophy & key messages as set out by the coaching staff.
- Create, develop & evolve an interactive set play ‘handbook’ that can be used to educate new players and/or remind current players of the team’s principles & strategies with regards to set plays.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Qualifications/Training:
- Strong attention to detail
- Fluent in the use of capture & coding software's such as Hudl Sportscode, Studio & Focus.
- Familiar with interpreting & presenting statistical data specific to set plays from sources such as Statsbomb, MatchTracker, SecondSpectrum, Wyscout etc.
- At least 12 months experience of working in a First Team environment in an analyst capacity to also include matchday experience (communication of detail to the bench).
- Fluent in the use of Microsoft programs Word, Excel & Powerpoint in addition to Keynote.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and responsibilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
