We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Sports Scientist Associate with the LA Clippers Performance, Health, and Wellness Department. The Sports Science Associate will assist the Director of Applied Sports Science in delivering performance-enhancing services for elite basketball players within the LA Clippers organization and will play a critical role in the setup, operation, and analysis of sports-related technology, data collection and research.

The Sports Science Associate will have the opportunity to be involved with a variety of essential tasks; including the monitoring of training exposure and response, assessing physical performance standards, undertaking data management and data analysis, generating reports and data visualization for coaches and athletes, and evaluating new technologies and innovations.

Ideal candidate will be a recent graduate of a sports science, kinesiology or related field and have at least a year of experience performing sports science duties in collegiate and/or professional team sport setting(s). Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS) credential is desired.

This is a part-time role based out of the Honey Training Center in Playa Vista and is not eligible for benefits.

What You Will Do

Assists the Director of Applied Sports Science in any monitoring and assessment-related tasks.
Assists the Director of Applied Sports Science in planning and preparing testing and evaluation activities.
Assists the Director of Applied Sports Science in maintaining data cleanliness and hygiene (e.g., systematic assurance of high data quality).
Implements monitoring and assessment interventions as required.
Undertakes data handling, databasing, and data analytics as required.
Ensures that the cleanliness and hygiene of the laboratory environments and associated equipment is maintained within the facility.
Acts in an interdisciplinary role with other technical areas to support Sports Science requirements as required.
Evaluates technologies and new innovations within the sport science domain as required.

Your Background, Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
1+ years of performing sports science duties in collegiate and/or professional team sport setting(s).
Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS) credential is desired.
Outstanding work ethic and attention to detail.
Strong data management and analysis skills.
Able to demonstrate their ability to work within athlete management system software (1+ years experience working with athlete management systems is desired).
Able to demonstrate their ability to deliver a variety of physiological testing protocols and the capacity to follow methodological procedures.
Able to demonstrate their ability to work independently on assigned tasks and to deliver outcome goals effectively.
Strong desire to work within an interdisciplinary team.
High level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (or Google equivalents) and other related computer skills.
Ability to learn, contribute and thrive in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.
Effective interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weeknights, select weekends, and holidays

Compensation

$24.00 per hour
