The Indianapolis Colts are seeking a Social/Content Intern to support the Mascot Program Manager in ideating, shooting, editing, and posting content to build Blue’s presence on social platforms, with a focus on short-form video content to support various platforms, as a part of our overall youth marketing efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Social/Content Intern – Mascot will support the Mascot Program Manager in ideating, shooting, editing, and posting content to build Blue’s presence on social platforms. With a focus on short-form video content to enhance the team’s overall youth marketing strategy, this position will play a key role within the mascot department managing all of Blue’s social handles. Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Manage all of Blue’s social platforms, with oversight from the Mascot Program Manager, to drive audience growth and engagement.
    • Create a weekly content calendar and collaborate with the Sr. Mascot Coordinator to establish processes and systems to plan content development and deployment daily.
    • Develop creative to support daily content on these channels, adhering to Blue’s brand standards and in alignment with the team’s overall brand standards and style guide.
  • Support the organization’s overall fan development priorities, with a keen focus on youth and Gen Z, through short-form video content creation for Blue’s social handles.
  • Collaborate with the team’s corporate partnership team to bring to life branded content for Blue’s social channels – helping ideate, shoot, edit and post content for the mascot program.
  • Monitor social media trends, accounts, and personalities and develop opportunities to leverage these to drive interest and relevancy and reach new audiences.
  • Collaborate with the team’s social team to ensure alignment on overall strategy, adherence to NFL social policies and best practices, content plans and ongoing campaigns throughout the season.
  • Create content to promote and feature key club events, programs and initiatives in unique and innovative ways that resonate with youth for Blue’s channels.
  • Stay abreast of emerging social trends, platforms, and technology, and provide recommendations and insight to support Blue’s social strategy and drive audience growth and engagement.
  • Monitor content performance and use learnings to optimize future content creation.
  • Support overall mascot appearances/programming as needed.
  • Support other business verticals, as needed, for event support, etc. in alignment with the Colts overall internship program expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years' experience in creating and editing social content reels and/or shorts with a proven track record of success on these platforms
  • Previous sports industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop, with the ability to develop video and still graphics in adherence to brand guidelines and standards.
  • Strong understanding of key social platforms, including IG and X, etc.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Commitment to teamwork, as well as individual responsibility.
  • Detail oriented, highly motivated, with the ability to multitask and be flexible.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a company vehicle.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, including all Colts home games.
