The Indiana Fever is seeking a highly motivated season associate to assist our Media Relations team this summer. The overall focus will be on assisting the PR Director with media clippings, research, features, interviews, game day preparation, and much more. If you are eager to break into the sports media industry and have a passion for womenโ€™s basketball, this internship could be a great fit!

The Indiana Fever Media Relations Season Associate position will last approximately 10-12 weeks, starting in May and ending in September at the conclusion of the Fever season. Due to the game and event schedule, the Indiana Fever Media Relations Season Associate must have the availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compile and maintain all Fever and prominent WNBA media clippings from local, regional, and national publications.
  • Assist in compiling Fever statistical research.
  • Aid in story ideas / feature stories for Fever news to be posted on FeverBasketball.com.
  • Prepare a weekly player interview for FeverBasketball.com.
  • Prepare periodic feature stories for Fever website.
  • Assist PR Director with coordination post-game, post-practice interviews, quotes, and interview setup and oversight for pre-arranged interviews.
  • Research for game notes and player / team publicity.
  • Assist in the credential process for all Fever home games.
  • Create in-arena essentials for visiting media.
  • Distribute attendance and injury reports as needed.
  • Assist with compilation of game notes and media oversight during games.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a current college or university program as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility, openness, and a positive attitude when balancing multiple projects, assignments, tasks, and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours during home games and assistance with some road games.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
