COMPANY BACKGROUND
The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Clubโ€™s brands include menโ€™s and womenโ€™s professional teams โ€“ the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo and Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park. The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018, 2023) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.


PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Houston Dynamo Football Club is seeking candidates with an interest in digital marketing, sports marketing, and/or communications to join the team as the Digital Marketing intern. The candidates will assist with various digital elements, including email communication, assisting with the creation of user experiences, maintaining user interfaces, copywriting, and social media engagement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports Digital Director and digital team with planning and executing campaigns as assigned.
  • Assist the Digital Marketing team with weekly fan communication via email, web, app, and other platforms.
  • Assist the Social Media team with content planning, scheduling and executing posts, and tagging posts.
  • Assist with game day content capture as needed for digital platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate - currently enrolled at college or university and majoring in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, sports management or relevant concentration.
  • Understanding of and ability to demonstrate professional acumen across the responsibilities of the position, including attire and grooming, speaking and writing skills, and engagement with Club and team staff, executives, players, media, partners and other stakeholders.
  • High school diploma/degree.
  • Ability to work evenings/nights, weekends and holidays.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES

  • Interested in acquiring further marketing and communications experience across the marketing functions.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively communicate (written and verbal).
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
