Academy Performance Coach

As Academy Performance Coach you will be responsible for supporting the LAPC (U9-U16) with the delivery of our physical performance strategy to the U9s-U16s with a focus on the foundation phase age-groups.

This is part-time (0.65) coaching role that requires you to have an interest in youth development and an ability to adjust your coaching style to suit a range of age-groups in both gym- and pitch-based sessions.

You will work closely with the Academy Performance team to aid your development in applied sport science and strength and conditioning.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide industry leading performance support to select FP/YDP age-groups.

• Support the LAPC with overseeing the design, delivery and tracking of FP strength and conditioning.

• In collaboration with LAPC set, monitor and review Academy Performance Department targets.

• Facilitate regular dialogue within staff delivering the physical performance strategy to the FP and YDP.

• Liaise with the FP MDT to effectively design individual development programme based on ILPs.

• Collaborate with the MDT to create player profiles and play an active role in player review cycles.

• Lead on internal and external physical performance testing within the FP.

• Ensure effective communication and planning with Academy Performance Coaches and Physiotherapists.

• Assist in performance support with the YDP.

• Support the LAPC with the collection, tracking and reporting of growth and maturation data.

• Build good relationships with heads of department and wider academy staff to help facilitate consolidated working practices across the academy.

• Liaise with medical staff to effectively design and deliver late-stage rehab in the YDP.

• Liaise with YDP staff on transition player programming and development.

• Support, where required, Academy events including inductions and workshops.

• Assist LAPC with Performance Department administrative duties.

• Uphold the highest Safeguarding standards.
