About the Role:

The Director, Business Intelligence Reporting & Analysis will be responsible for leading the reporting and analysis function, along with overall oversight of the Customer Insights team for OEG Inc reporting to the VP, Loyalty and Customer Insights and located at our head office in Edmonton. The Director, Business Intelligence Reporting & Analysis will partner with the rest of the team to ensure the organizations data is leveraged and available to all relevant stakeholders across Marketing, Ticket Sales, Ticket Operations, Finance/Accounting among other departments. Additionally, this role will focus on working with relevant stakeholders to gain a better understanding of current gaps and work towards broadening reporting and automation. This role will also have ownership over the contactable database, supporting campaign execution and contributing to strategies to grow the size and depth of the database. This role will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership across the organization to develop new revenue driving initiatives, define KPIs, and build reporting to measure impact.

Your Focus in this Role:

  • Lead and support the development and maintenance of all operational, financial and League reporting for Oilers, Oil Kings and Rogers Place
  • Develop and maintain internal business reporting; provide, when necessary, analytical support when compiling reporting information
  • Collaborate and work effectively with other departments including Ticket Sales, Corporate Partnerships, Finance/Accounting, Communications, and Marketing to further develop reliable and meaningful reporting standards
  • Directly manage key customer data systems
  • Collaborate with data architect on the ongoing development of OEG’s data infrastructure including data warehouse, analytics platform, and reporting capabilities
  • Collaborate with data architect to maintain the integrity of the information database (timeliness and accuracy of data) and work both internally and with third parties to develop ways to facilitate and automate access to and the functionality of data in the warehouse
  • Collaborate on the development OEG ticket revenue and pricing models.
  • Collaborate on ticketing and sponsorship operational requirements for new initiatives, and identify opportunities for improvement on existing initiatives, with key focus on increasing efficiencies and ensuring data integrity.
  • Oversee the development of email lists, forms, landing pages, and list segments – including future automations.
  • Support Ticketmaster Archtics database, working closely with Ticketing Operations team.
  • Calculate and report on all sales commissions for Ticketing & Sponsorship.
  • Ensure the accuracy and uniformity of information being distributed across the organization; work cooperatively with the appropriate departments to reconcile differences
  • Liaise with other internal analytical groups and play a consultative role with relevant business units in projects to facilitate data driven decision-making.
  • Manage and execute reporting data requests from internal & external customers, ensuring consistency in reporting across customers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to leverage technology to improve efficiency of sales, service, and ticket operations departments
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry counterparts and technology partners.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Finance
  • Approximately 5-10 years of Analytics, Marketing & Sponsorship sales support development, preferably in the Sports/Entertainment/Media industry
  • Fluency in SQL development and an understanding of database and data warehousing technologies
  • Demonstrated fluency with Ticketing data sets, preferably Ticketmaster Archtics
  • Experience with PowerBI, Eloqua strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform
  • Must be proficient with MS Excel (Access a plus)
  • Experience related to data management (data warehousing, architecture and AWS)
  • Deep operational domain expertise in sport business including finance, sales operations, ticketing, sponsorships, marketing and fan behavior strongly preferred
