OEG Sports & Entertainment delivers leading sports, entertainment and other special event programming to fans and patrons in Canada and the United States. OEG owns the 5-time Stanley Cup Champion Edmonton Oilers, the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings, the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors, and will operate Rogers Place, the new home of the Oilers and Oil Kings in downtown Edmonton. OEG also owns and operates one of Canada’s most accomplished television, event, and brand-promotion companies and has recently added Silver Pictures Entertainment to its growing sports & entertainment business.
The Coordinator, Event Presentation – Edmonton Oil Kings will be responsible for leading and executing the in-game presentation for all thirty-four (34) Edmonton Oil Kings (EOK) regular season home games, pre-season, and WHL Playoff games as the team’s schedule dictates. This person will report to the Manager, Event Presentation.
Core Responsibilities and Duties:
- Build game scripts and produce all Edmonton Oil Kings home games while leading in-house video production team and providing direction for front-facing talent as it pertains to the scoreboard show.
- Collaborate with group sales, hockey operations and sponsorship teams to develop season-long planning documents to ensure departmental and individual needs are being met.
- Manage and schedule the Game host, DJ, PA Announcer, and Mascot for each game (All positions seasonal P/T).
- Produce and distribute timing sheets for all EOK and WHL stakeholders to ensure accurate scheduling information (pre-game, regular game play and intermission lengths).
- Create short-form content for in-arena videoboard, website, and EOK social channels as needed including, but not limited to, pre-game video packages (EOK Today), post-game video press coverage, promotional videos, and community appearance videos.
- Support Edmonton Oilers Event Presentation team as directed during various games and events throughout the season.
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Team player
- Self-starter with strong time management skills
- Willingness and ability to work flexible and unpredictable hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of video editing software including the use of the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop)
- Basic understanding of capturing video and the use of video recording equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Sports and Entertainment, Live Events, or Communications-related experience considered an asset
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience also considered.
