The Detroit Lions and Ford Field Management currently have an opening for a Digital Media Producer. Reporting to the Director of New Media, the Digital Media Producer will be responsible for coordinating and producing multimedia content for all Detroit Lions media platforms. This will include conceptualization, planning, videography, editing and overall production of engaging video content for the team and Ford Field.
This full-time position includes a full benefits package as well as wonderful perks! This position will work out of both the Meijer Performance Center and the Ford Field stadium in Detroit and may require some travel with the team. Due to the unique nature of this position, the candidate must be able to work extended hours during the NFL season and training camp which will include working on nights, weekends, and holidays.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, capture visual content, edit and produce stories for multiple platforms on deadline, including but not limited to Detroitlions.com, stadium video boards and TV broadcast partner programming
- Editing including but not limited to integration of graphic elements, sound and music
- Upload/post finished product to the teamās digital properties, social media profiles and FTP
- Export finished product to multi-bit format for delivery to various devices at multiple speeds
- Collaborate with team multimedia journalist and other new media producers to deliver impactful pieces of content to help reach the departmentās overall annual content goals across all platforms
- Translate high-level ideas from project owners and convert same to production treatments
- Work with marketing and corporate communications teams to develop and produce features for internal and external content needs
- Assist Detroitlions.com writers and staff in multimedia to complement written articles.
- Assist in tagging and organizing video for teamās digital asset management system
- Work with Sr. New Media Manager to photograph team events when needed

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelorās degree in Broadcast Production, Communications or related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
- Professional experience in video production, sports or news environment with a strong knowledge of the game of football
- Proficiency with media editing software; including Adobe Premier, Final Cut, Adobe After Effects, CS5.
- Understanding of video encoding, codecs and formatting projects for appropriate channels.
- Proficient at posting content to various websites (CMS)
- Evidence of creativity and innovation in developing project and story ideas
- Evidence of highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and demonstration of editorial judgment and journalistic ethics
- Demonstrated strong organization and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability and willingness to work flexible and non-traditional schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays in a fast-paced environment
- Experience operating multiple types of HD cameras is required
- Experience serving as a completely independent segment producer is preferred.
- Ability to draft breaking news-based scripts is preferred
- General understanding of NFL rules, teams, players and culture is required
- A reel (on DVD, YouTube, or Vimeo) that shows you can manage a project from start to finish
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- Candidate must be available to work extended hours during the NFL season, training camp and NFL Draft, including holidays
- Candidate must be capable of travel to some away games and other Lions events
- Strong video editing skills required
LICENSING OR CERTIFICATIONS:
- A valid Driverās License and a good driving record
