PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERN
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Public Relations Intern is responsible for supporting the Public Relations team. The Public Relations Intern provides administrative support including creating and maintaining media documents and resources in addition to daily tasks and various assigned projects The Public Relations Intern reports to the Public Relations Manager.
We anticipate this internship to be about 6 months in length and approximately 30 hours per week. It is primarily based at The Star in Frisco, TX. but will occasionally work from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX., during games or events.
Job Duties:
- Create and distribute daily local and national news clippings.
- Maintain and update all-inclusive media website platform, NFL OMG with pertinent information.
- Assist with weekly releases by updating statistics, coaching bios, player graphics, and more.
- Compile and update miscellaneous statistics following each game.
- Format, print, and distribute league-provided statistics to coaches and scouts.
- Assist with media elements during open locker room and practice.
- Monitor social and internet media regarding the Cowboys organization on a daily basis.
- Ensure all pertinent departmental information is packed and ready to go for road games.
- Assist with various media-related needs at select special events.
- Assist with the NFLβs new media and staff credentialing system and process.
- Other duties as assigned
In-Game Duties
- Track in game miscellaneous statistics
- Assist with post game notes as needed
- Be present to assist with media elements post-game
- Ability to assist with postgame interview transcription when needed
- Offseason
- Assist with research and writing for Season in Review and Media Guide
- Update all statistics and other pertinent information
- Assist with various media-related elements for special events
Qualifications:
- A degree in communications, a sports related or management program preferred
- Previous sports-related public relations exposure at the professional or collegiate level preferred
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite
- Experience with transcription
- Manage multiple tasks with multiple priorities in a high energy environment with deadlines
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
- Simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects
- Demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changes while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness under pressure
- Work well within a team environment, offering assistance and support to team members whenever necessary
