Position Summary:

DC Power FC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Athletic Trainer for our professional USL women’s team. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This role involves working closely with the coaching staff, medical professionals, and players to optimize athlete health and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate care and management of athletic injuries during training sessions and matches.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs tailored to the needs of individual players and the team.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of athletic injuries and create comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Collaborate with team physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care and recovery of athletes.
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
  • Educate players and coaching staff on injury prevention, nutrition, and wellness strategies.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of pre-season and in-season conditioning programs.
  • Oversee- Participate in community outreach programs and represent DC Power FC at public events.
  • Undertake ad hoc activities as required, contributing to the overall success and functionality of the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Washington, D.C.
  • Proven experience as an athletic trainer at the professional or collegiate level, preferably in women’s soccer.
  • Strong knowledge of athletic training principles, techniques, and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
