JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Assistant Equipment Manager for the Soccer Operations department with D.C. United. Subject to the minimum qualifications listed below, we welcome applicants of all levels of experience. This position will report directly to the Head Equipment Manager. This position will be based out of the Inova Performance Complex and require occasional travel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in set-up and breakdown of all equipment for daily training sessions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the locker room.
  • Be available for athletes and staff before, during and after sessions.
  • Ensure all team apparel and equipment is in proper condition each day and available use.
  • Launder player and staff training and match gear, resetting player and staff lockers for the next day.
  • Organize and maintain up to date inventory of all team apparel.
  • Work with internal departments on locker room space usage for games and outside events.
  • Use heat press to ensure team apparel is labeled with necessary team and sponsor logos.
  • Assist in travel packing for away trips and transporting gear from the training facility to the stadium when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Work and/or volunteer experience in college and/or professional sports.
  • You must provide proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to start date.

  • Ability to adapt to conflict and problem solve with a positive attitude.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
  • Must be willing to travel with the team when needed.
  • Must be able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks at once.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written).
