Job Title: Seasonal Museum Ambassador

Department: Reds Hall of Fame and Museum
Reports To: Visitor Services and Retail Manager
FLSA: Seasonal/Hourly, Non-Exempt
Term: March 1, 2024 – September 30, 2024

Job Purpose:
The storied history of baseball in Cincinnati is on display at the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum. Museum Ambassadors assist in all facets of museum operations to bring the history of Reds baseball to life and provide exemplary service to all guests. Museum Ambassadors skillfully present information in a clear and concise manner to guests of varied ages and backgrounds. Museum Ambassadors lead tours of Great American Ball Park and the Hall of Fame and Museum. Museum Ambassadors welcome guests, answer guest questions, and highlight important areas of the museum to ensure an outstanding guest experience. Museum Ambassadors assist with game day sales and donation initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct back-to-back tours of Great American Ball Park and the Reds Hall of Fame, approximately 60-90 minutes in length
  • Experience in public speaking with the ability to manage and entertain various-size groups of all ages and knowledge
  • Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time and climb stairs/ramps throughout the ballpark
  • Possess solid customer service skills
  • Willingness and ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Possess good judgment, empathy, and common sense when handling unexpected situations
  • Possess a positive attitude that demonstrates approachability and friendliness
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all museum exhibits and initiatives
  • Assist with education programs and school groups as directed by management
  • Assist with museum special events
  • Assist in game day shift coverage
  • Enforce ballpark security regulations while being alert and aware of surroundings
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience, Education and Licensure:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • A willingness and availability to work extended hours on game days and on weekends is required.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent verbal communications skills are a must.
  • Comfort level interacting with all audiences and age groups is essential.
  • Must have a positive and upbeat demeanor with a team-player mentality.
  • Must be self-motivated, creative, and able to proactively solve problems, and possess excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Must present a professional attitude and appearance and have a desire to succeed.
  • Must be open to learning and upgrading skills and accept supervision from the Hall of Fame staff.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of situations. Must physically be able to lead several tours a day of Great American Ball Park and the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum and have the ability to lift 20 or more pounds. Knowledge of Reds history or a strong desire to learn the history of the Reds franchise is essential.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to prevalent weather conditions for short periods of time.
  • Job duties require the ability to stand for long periods of time.
