The Cincinnati Bengals are seeking a Social Media Assistant to help grow our social media channels through high-quality content creation and distribution. The ideal candidate would be proficient with most social media platforms and dedicated to fostering relationships with our fans via direct social outreach.

The Social Media Assistant would have several responsibilities including building KPI dashboards, creating original content for the Bengals TikTok, engaging with local social media trends, connecting with local fans, and strategically growing our emerging social platforms. This is a seasonal role that would be active from July 2024 through the end of the Bengals football season.


Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Bengals Director of Content, the Social Media Assistant will help with day-to-day posting and content aggregation
  • Create original content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Snapchat
  • Assist with writing social media copy
  • Monitor the daily social conversations of fans, influencers, other brands and teams to identify trends and best practices
  • Engage with local and national social media trends
  • Assist with graphic design and video needs for different social channels
  • Continuously reach out to fans directly to establish long-term relationships
  • Create game highlight melts to be used on social media channels
  • Create short-form videos to be used on our social channels
  • Document community events
  • Log and archive Bengals photographs using our media asset management software, Iconik
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing or communications
  • Strong understanding of the NFL and its offseason events
  • Strong writing skills with knowledge of AP Style
  • Experience in creating social media content
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be willing to work long hours including days, nights, weekends and holidays


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in journalism, marketing or communications
  • Experience with a professional sports organization or Power-5 Conference team
  • Photography experience (DSLR & Camera Phone)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere)


Work Environment

  • This position would be on location, 40+ hours a week, and seasonal to provide coverage for the 2024 Bengals Football season.
