THE CHICAGO CUBS FRANCHISE is a charter member of Major League Baseball’s National League. Since 1876, the team has won the National League pennant 17 times and was the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles in the 1907 and 1908 seasons. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs made history again when the team won its first World Series in 108 years, ending the longest championship drought in North American sports. Known for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-operated scoreboard and famous Marquee sign, iconic Wrigley Field has been the home of the Chicago Cubs since 1914, making it the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:
The Ticket Office Window Seller is responsible for selling tickets to the public from the Cubs Spring Training Facility Box Office in Mesa, Arizona using the Tickets.com Pro Venue system, while providing general information to guests. This is a seasonal position that will start in January and conclude at the end of Spring Training. There may be additional opportunities throughout the year as well based on the events at Sloan Park.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Selling tickets to the general public from the Sloan Park Box Office
  • Assist guests at the Box Office Will-Call window and resolve all issues/problems
  • Create exceptional experience for all guests through a safe, clean, and friendly environment
  • Answer questions regarding events, tickets and schedules
  • Reconcile money received
  • Balance ticket settlement at end of shift with supervisor
  • Assist with the restocking of Box Office supplies
  • Follow all operational policies and procedures for Box Office operations and Event Operations
  • All other duties as assigned by Director, Ticket Sales & Business Operations and Manager, Ticket Operations


WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 1-year prior experience in a customer service role required
  • Demonstrated aptitude to resolve conflicts
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Candidates must be computer literate and have experience with office equipment: copier, computer/keyboard, telephone, fax and ticket printers
  • Must be available to work from January – April
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work
  • High school diploma or a general education degree
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours with variable schedule, to include weekends
  • Position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, use hands to reach and handle tickets, money, receipts, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds


WHAT SETS YOU APART:

  • 1-year computerized box office experience is preferred
  • Year-round availability if needed for ancillary events at Sloan Park
  • Bilingual preferred
