Job Title: Vice President, Community Engagement
Reports To: EVP, Public Affairs
FLSA: Salaried-Exempt
Objective of this role: To cultivate and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships with individuals and organizations throughout Baltimore and the surrounding areas and to advance and expand the Orioles mission and initiatives in the communities we serve. Enhance community presence through senior leadership team engagement on boards/initiative. Oversee the Orioles Foundation and develop fundraising strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish, build and maintain relationships with local and regional partners, community leaders and agencies to support the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the Baltimore Orioles
- Manage the Orioles Foundation in its conversion from private to public, and execute strategic plans to enhance the foundation's public presence.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure donations from external stakeholders.
- Strategize with EVP, Public Affairs and provide recommendations to the senior leadership team on events, campaigns, logistics, staffing, etc. to support the foundation's goals.
- Create a donor/donation vision, strategy, and plan to cultivate sustainability in giving which aligns with short and long-term revenue goals
- Develop and direct the implementation of a strategic community engagement plan with annual performance measures to increase the visibility of the organization throughout the Orioles territory
- Collaborate with the Corporate Partnership team to optimize relationships and generate activation/funding opportunities with team partners
- Collaborate with SVP, Community Development and Communications to organize Orioles player and alumni involvement in the community
- Devise and implement a plan to further our youth programs in the community
- Oversee coordination of all outreach efforts and events, including identifying opportunities to inform and educate multiple constituencies about Orioles activities and the role the Orioles play in improving communities throughout Baltimore region
- Oversee and manage the department budget
- Manage and mentor a team of community engagement staff members to effectively achieve goals
- Other special projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7-10 years of management experience
Essential Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with demonstrated strength in convening diverse individuals and groups in a common purpose
- Experience coordinating fundraising and generating donations and revenue
- Ability to effectively represent the needs, interest and priorities of the organization
- Maintain positive working relationships all across the organization
- Excellent written and communication skills
