Position Summary

The Falcons Director of Youth Football & Legends Community is directly responsible for driving strategy to enhance the team’s efforts in growing the game of football and creating a standard-setting Falcons Legends community program. This position will be expected to create and execute various events, programs and initiatives related to youth, tackle and flag football, and will be actively involved in maintaining and growing relationships in the youth and high school football community. Simultaneously, this role will be expected to grow the Atlanta Falcons Legends community, including programming and engagement opportunities to foster more connectivity.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic efforts and department’s direction for 1) growing and enhancing the youth and high school football platform and 2) increase engagement and opportunities for the Falcons Legends Community, while aligning with the team’s strategic pillars and market focus areas
  • Serve as primary liaison to the youth and high school football community, fostering strong relationships with schools, athletic associations, local conferences and leagues
  • Oversee the Legends liaison process through a strategic approach, internally and externally, to engage every alumni so they feel connected to the organization
  • Develop a comprehensive approach for communication with the Legends community and youth/high school football coaches, athletic directors and key stakeholders in the community across all Falcons markets
  • Collaborate across several different functions with the Atlanta Falcons and the broader AMBS+E portfolio to ensure business goals within scope are met
  • Oversee multiple comprehensive databases, extensive documents, and organized plans while maintaining the utmost organization and attention to detail
  • Lead strategic direction for yearly budgets, including accurately overseeing and maintaining applicable complex budgets from various sources, ensuring that all expenditures are justified and aligned with company goals
  • Maintain proficient knowledge in all aspects of football rules and restrictions at the youth and high school level, as well as an understanding of the Legends benefits and offerings
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with the NFL and partners, as well as proficient working knowledge of NFL initiatives, platforms and goals
  • Listen and respond to various stakeholders on the current landscape of the Falcons Legends community and youth football in the team markets; develop strategies to assist in amplification or problem solving based on findings
  • Stay up-to-date with youth football and legends community trends, data and best practices to continue driving impact in our communities
  • Oversee gameday programs and organizational needs, appearances and opportunities for youth football and Falcons Legends community

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 5-7 years of experience in Youth and High School Football (non-coaching), Football Development, Alumni Affairs and/or Community Relations

Required Skills

  • Experience supervising others with a talent for motivating, leading, and inspiring teams to achieve high levels of success
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication, organization and attention to detail
  • Proficient knowledge of NFL Alumni and Football Development rules, programs and initiatives
  • A professional approach in all interactions with Falcons players, staff, coaches and external vendors
  • Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential material
  • Superior multi-tasking ability, taking initiative and sound judgment
  • Mandatory computer skills in all Microsoft Office programs; proficiency and/or ability to become proficient in additional software programs
  • Excellent content writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and perspectives
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours, including all Falcons home games
