The Role


We are looking for a Soft Tissue Therapist to deliver soft tissue therapy to our Women's players along with energy and enthusiasm, to support the delivery of all elements of athlete health and performance.

The key elements of the role will be adaptability; whilst there will be specific responsibilities we are looking for somebody with the flexibility to support across all the key elements of sports medicine provision in elite sport.

We're looking for enthusiastic and driven individuals to bring both experience and energy to both continue their own personal development and that of the department.

Your day-to-day


  • Provide exceptional soft tissue therapy - you'll take pride in offering therapy in person, both at the training ground and during team travel, to support the physical well-being and performance optimisation of our players
  • Develop impactful professional relationships - you will be entrusted to grow and maintain relationships with players based on trust, respect and empathy, creating a supportive environment conducive to open communication and collaboration in achieving optimal health and performance goals
  • Collaborate with the wider team - you'll support our soft tissue specialists in delivering treatments, particularly during recovery days, pre-game preparation sessions, and occasionally on match days
  • Manage key stakeholders - you will partner with colleagues involved in player care, coaches, physiotherapists and other members of our performance team
  • Ensure effective communication with our Lead Physiotherapist - you'll be responsible for making sure you're up to date with player care plans, treatment strategies and injury management protocols
  • Contribute valuable insights and recommendations - you'll courageously develop and suggest strategies aimed at enhancing player performance and resilience, drawing on your knowledge of soft tissue therapy principles and practices
  • Build and develop your professional expertise - you will strive to stay abreast of the latest advancements in soft tissue therapy and sports medicine, continuously refining your skills and knowledge to benefit player care
  • Act as a trusted ambassador for our club - you will passionately adhere to our code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to our club and operations, safeguarding sensitive information related to players and staff

What we are looking for


  • Track record within elite sport - you come with proven experience of working full time within elite level sport and in a demanding high-performance team environment
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team - you're well versed in operating as part of a wider team in the delivery of sports massage therapy to elite athletes
  • Qualified expert - you possess qualifications in soft tissue therapy, such as Level 3 to 4 Sports Massage MVQ
  • Extensive and up-to-date portfolio - you're proud of your Continuous Professional Development portfolio that demonstrates your ongoing professional development in soft tissue therapy and related fields
  • Exceptional player rapport building skills - you cooperate closely with athletes and build trusting relationships whilst acting as an exemplary role model
  • Best-in-class communicator - you've got an excellent ability to establish and uphold effective relationships with key colleagues outside of the playing staff, including coaches, medical staff and management
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset - you're well equipped to meet the demands of elite sport and you're proud of your ability to remain composed under pressure, respond to setbacks and continuously learn and improve
  • Passion for personal development - you are committed to personal continuous professional development to keep up-to-date with the latest industry advancements
