The Role


We are looking for a Senior Licensing Manager to lead the licensing team in setting and delivering successful strategic plans for revenue growth and global brand development and extension.

Your day-to-day


  • Financial management - direct responsibility for delivering the licensing P&L
  • Licensing strategy - develop strategic plans for licensing both domestically and internationally for physical and digital products and the implementation and steering of those plans
  • Relationship management - build long term relationships with licensees, maximising the ROI for licensees and building value for our club. Negotiate contract renewals and extensions of existing license agreements
  • Business development - lead the business development function for licensing, identifying new business opportunities and negotiate agreements through to execution
  • International licensing - manage existing international licensing operations and assist in the development of international retail strategy
  • Product management - overall responsibility for licensee product approvals, including products and categories represented and the direction for future products
  • Brand management – oversee licensing style guide, manage 3rd party brand protection agency
  • Match & event responsibilities – responsible for Licensing agreements and relationships at key pre-season games, including the summer tour
  • Team management – line management, coaching and development of a team of 2

What we are looking for


  • Retail and licensing experience – significant knowledge of brand licensing and experience at a senior level. Sports licensing experience would be desirable
  • Broad skillset - knowledge of associated disciplines including marketing, buying and merchandising
  • Strong negotiator - significant negotiation skills required
  • Passion for licensing/retail/sponsorship - demonstrated through industry courses, qualifications and/or accreditations
  • Strong leadership skills - interpersonal, motivational and leadership skills with the ability to generate a team environment that focuses on results
  • Relationship builder - the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, licensees and partners at all levels, up to and including owner / director level
  • Excellent communicator - excellent communication skills and experienced in effective leadership
  • Flexibility and adaptability - a dedicated, motivational, and flexible can-do approach. Willing to travel nationally and internationally regularly
