The Role


We are looking for Trainee Matchday Stewards to play a vital role in the safety of our matchday events, providing safety and security duties, best-in-class service to stadium attendees and enhancing the supporter and customer experience.

Your day-to-day


  • Crowd Management: deal with all aspects of crowd control and crowd safety from last mile to ingress to circulation through to egress and dispersal, ensuring the safe entry and exit of guests and preventing unauthorised entry into and from the stadium. Reporting any changes in crowd dynamics and being proactive in your approach to handle
  • Safety and Security: manage, monitor, and control the safety of all matchday attendees including exit gates, lifts and staircases ensuring clear passage in the event of an emergency
  • Conflict Management: ensure you are adept at handling conflict and managing queues in a calm and professional manner
  • Customer Service: provide an excellent level of customer service for all supporters in matchday attendance, with the ability to communicate effectively, answer queries and accurately provide guidance around the stadium
  • Ticket Checking: actively checking matchday and events tickets to ensure no unauthorised entry into the stadium

What we are looking for


  • Teamwork:you are an effective communicator and team player, more than willing to collaborate and support the members of your team on matchdays to drive success and offer exceptional safety, security, and customer service.
  • Proactive: you will have strong attention to detail and ensure all safety and security standards are held throughout
  • Excellent Communication: you will have the ability to clearly communicate with all supporters and guests, providing a positive experience for all attendees in a fast-paced event day environment
  • Committed: you will be prepared to work in all weather conditions
  • Flexibility: you will have availability to work evenings, weekdays, and weekends


Your application will only be considered for this role if you have NOT already achieved your Level 2 Spectator Safety qualification (If you have, please apply for our 24/25 Season Qualified Matchday Steward Vacancy)
