We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Senior R&D Technician to join our expanding F1 Special Projects team to deliver performance-enhancing technology in short timescales.
Our ideal candidate is someone with 6-10 years of practical experience in their area of expertise with a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing techniques, material testing, sub-assembly, NDT and failure investigations. The ability to lead and own significant projects in their area of specialisation will be integral to the successful candidate flourishing in our dynamic environment.
As a Senior R&D Technician you will:
Be responsible for development, delivery, manufacture and test of R&D components.
Take ownership and authority to report on R&D programs to support the Head of Department.
Develop and maintain departmental documentation to assist the organisation and delivery of R&D projects.
Liaise with external suppliers to leverage new technologies for performance.
Have close co-operation with other engineers to support the wider organisation in departments such as Materials, Vehicle Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Prototype and Test.
Deputise for Senior R&D Engineer; if requested and reporting back to peers and project groups.

Has familiarity with agile management, planning, composite manufacturing and structural testing.
Is willing to mentor less experienced engineers within the team.

Enjoys collaborating with people in Vehicle Design and the wider business.
Is approachable, with a balanced judgement and a high level of personal integrity.
