Senior Manager, Technology
The Washington Commanders are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Technology. Qualified candidates will need to be able to demonstrate proficiency and strong knowledge of various systems and platforms in use in the Commanders technology toolbox. That will include, but may not be limited to M365 suite (Defender, Endpoint Manager, Entra, Purview, etc.), MS-AD, Azure, VMware and SAN, as well as working experience with Cisco products in LAN, WLAN, WAN and VoIP. Other skills the manager will need to have expertise in are project management, documentation, and platform integrations. This role requires strong team leadership and advanced project management skills to drive the success of the systems engineering and network teams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading complex IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen eye for prioritization and resource allocation
  • Produce and present documentation, training, and standard operating procedures
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen eye for prioritization and resource allocation
  • Lead systems projects with various Departments across the organization
  • Lead the systems engineering and network teams
  • Manage and maintain M 365, and Active Directory users and groups
  • EntraID administration and troubleshooting
  • Manage, support, and maintain Network Attached Storage systems (NAS)
  • Maintain, support, and upgrade VMWare
  • Experience with enterprise cloud backup solutions
  • Support Cisco VOIP phone system
  • Monitor logs and system events for servers and applications
  • Oversee enterprise software licensing and certificate management
  • Assist the IT team in providing technical support to the enterprise
  • Develop and execute system conversion, migration, implementation, and upgrade plans
  • Manage relationships with systems contractors and vendors
  • Provide event and game day operations and technology support and management
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology field or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to define and adhere to multiple simultaneous project budgets and timelines
  • 10 years of relevant IT experience to include end-user support and systems integration
  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer within a M365 and LAN/WAN environments
  • 1+ year experience supporting/maintaining VOIP phone system
  • Be able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Possess high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability for area of responsibility and related results
  • Must be able to work at our Headquarters in College Park, MD, Commanders Field in Landover, MD or the OrthoVirginia Training Center at Commanders Park in Ashburn, VA
  • Proven track record of implementing project management methodologies and best practices to improve project outcomes
  • Excellent skills in project planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication to ensure project alignment and success
