About the Job:

The Washington Commanders are looking to hire a Football Administration Assistant to join our Football Administration team. As a Football Administration Assistant, you will support all aspects of the organization’s football administration functions, including salary cap and cash management, contract negotiation and execution, player valuations, NFL CBA compliance, and strategic and financial planning,

Responsibilities:

· Assist with the preparation, execution, and processing of player contracts and the onboarding of new players.

· Assist with contract negotiation preparation, including research and analysis, as well as updating the team’s leaguewide contract database.

· Manage processes associated with team transactions to ensure timely submission and communication.

· Support various cash management processes including player payroll and cash spending tracking and reconciliation.

· Monitor, analyze, and report league-wide transactions.

· Perform research related to market forecasting, player valuation, resource allocation, etc. to help inform team decision-making.

· Assist with the team’s efforts to maintain compliance with the NFL CBA and league rules and policies.

· Manage day-to-day football administrative functions and the execution of special projects.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Statistics, Law, or Sports Administration, or related work experience.

· Strong desire to develop knowledge and understanding of the NFL salary cap and NFL CBA.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

· Strong data sourcing, management, analysis, and visualization skills.

· Detail-oriented with excellent communication and time management skills.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously.

· Preferred qualifications include: an advanced degree, previous work experience with the NFL salary cap or CBA, and/or computer programming abilities.

· Expected Start date: June/July 2024

· Must be available to work in-office weekends and holidays.
